Banner year for Edmonton music
“Eleven years ago, when I first started at The Journal, I covered about one local CD release party per month. Now, there’s usually one or two per WEEK, thanks to cheaper recording gear, the rise of indie labels, and the power of the Internet.”
Sandra Sperounes on music in Edmonton in 2010.

#QFAC Day 361: I bought myself a Kobo ereader with my Christmas money. The first book I bought? David Foster Wallace’s Infinite Jest. I tried to read this during Infinite Summer in 2009 and failed miserably. I’m hoping that by eliminating the hurdle of the sheer size of the book, I might have a better chance of succeeding. Wish me luck!

#QFAC Day 361: Georges Laraque thinks Lucy the elephant should be moved. So does Bob Barker. If Lucy weren’t such a part of my childhood, I would find all of this very amusing.
